you breathed and the stars ignited.
You wept with joy,
and the sea filled with salt,
and gave birth.
Mother of all things,
you know the name of all your children.
You call us each
by a secret word and our hearts
hear you and sing.
Forgive us then, Mother,
when we destroy and corrupt.
Wash us clean,
with your tears and make us
